Lauren Muskara, MS
Lauren Muskara is an award-winning instructional designer, biomedical visualizer, and multidisciplinary artist based in Chicago. Her work focuses on translating complex ideas into accessible, engaging, and meaningful learning and visual experiences across disciplines.
With a Master of Science in Biomedical Visualization, Lauren brings together learning design, visual storytelling, and research to create education that is clear, inclusive, and impactful. She has experience developing e-learning, blended programs, and multimedia content in collaboration with subject matter experts, with a strong emphasis on accessibility and user-centered design.
In addition to her design work, Lauren is an anaplastology health equity researcher, where she focuses on advancing inclusive education and improving access to prosthetic, gender-affirming care for LGBTQ+ populations. She is also currently authoring and illustrating a children’s book centered on environmental stewardship, expanding her practice into early education and ecological storytelling.
Lauren serves as Education Committee Co-Chair for the International Anaplastology Association, contributing to the development of educational initiatives within the field. She is deeply committed to mentorship, offering free guidance and support to aspiring instructional designers and biomedical artists, and helping others build careers at the intersection of science, design, and communication.
As an internationally recognized artist and visual communicator, her work has been exhibited at the Dallas Museum of Art and the International Museum of Surgical Science, and published in leading academic journals including the American Journal of Bioethics and the Journal of Chemical Education (American Chemical Society). Across both art and education, her work explores the relationship between science, the body, and the human experience.
